Why can't I convert my AUD cash to other currencies?

MEXEM Australia supports balances in AUD, USD, EUR, and GBP. Trades in unsupported currencies are permitted but immediately converted to your base currency. Balances in non-supported currencies are also converted into your base currency. For more information, refer to the MEXEM Knowledge Base.

Is there a minimum deposit required to obtain a margin account?

Clients meeting age, financial, and investment criteria can get margin permissions. Accounts with these permissions and equity above $2,000 are eligible for margin on qualifying positions. Margin availability depends on account equity, loan value, and new order margin requirements.

I'm enrolled in SYEP but my shares aren't being lent?

Not all eligible shares in the Stock Yield Enhancement Program are guaranteed to be loaned, depending on market conditions and MEXEM's discretion. Clients with financing deficits may have 140% of the deficit un-segregated, making them ineligible for lending. Refer to the FAQ for more information.

How many lines of market data do I receive?

Clients initially receive 100 lines of real-time market data. After the first month, data allocation is determined by the higher value of monthly commissions divided by 8, equity times 100 divided by $1 million, or 100. Real-time data requires subscription. More details on our website.

How do I update cost basis information for transferred securities?

Cost basis of transferred positions is sent by the transferor after settlement. Until then, MEXEM classifies positions as non-covered with default cost basis. Clients can manually update the cost basis via Client Portal/Account Management. Cost basis of covered positions updates automatically. More info in MEXEM Users' Guide.

How do I trade on the Singapore Stock Exchange?

Trading permissions can be requested in Client Portal/Account Management. Due to regulations, MEXEM can't offer Singapore stocks and SGD-denominated futures on SGX to Singapore residents. No part of MEXEM's website encourages such trading. More product information is available on our website.

How do I participate in an IPO?

MEXEM does not typically offer clients participation in US IPOs. However, opportunities to participate in IPOs outside the US may be available on a case-by-case basis. To check for active IPOs, go to Account Management's Trading > IPO Subscription menu. For Hong Kong IPO applications, refer to the specific guidelines on timing.

How do I access Trader Workstation?

You can access Trader Workstation (TWS) by installing it on your computer. Use your MEXEM account's username and password to log in, or select "No username? Try the demo" for a test run. Choose between Paper Trading for simulated trading, or Live trading for actual transactions. Log in by clicking the button at the window's bottom.
