What is the difference between Securities Margin and Commodities Margin?

For securities, margin is the amount of cash a client borrows against marginable securities in the account. For commodities including futures, single-stock futures and futures options, margin is the amount of cash a client must put up as collateral to support an open futures contract in the account.
