When does a Belgian citizen need to pay the TOB?

At MEXEM, we deduct the stock exchange tax at source and pass it on to the tax authorities. Belgian taxpayers who make a transaction in shares or ETFs have to pay a stock exchange tax of 0.35% on the transaction amount. These are deducted at source (on purchases and sales).

You will not see this reflected in your order ticket because this line is only for Belgian residents. As a result, it is calculated afterwards and shown in your report
